Speaking during a media interview, Kuria alleged that Gachagua is likely to play a key role in Ruto’s re-election bid, even suggesting he could be appointed as the President’s campaign manager.

Kuria also weighed in on the opposition lineup, claiming that Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka will contest for the presidency but ultimately lose, before later joining the government. He compared the anticipated move to past political strategies associated with late opposition leader Raila Odinga.
“Kalonzo and Matiang’i will be on the ballot… Kalonzo will be on the ballot for one reason. First, it’s inconceivable in his place that he could be anything other than a presidential candidate… Then he’ll lose. Then what will happen? He’ll read from Baba’s book. So he’ll join the government,” he added.
However, Gachagua has not publicly indicated whether he will support Ruto’s 2027 campaign following their fallout, which led to his impeachment from office.
Since his removal, Gachagua has maintained a strong public presence, describing his ouster as beneficial. He likened it to “throwing a fish back into water,” arguing that it has helped him reconnect with grassroots supporters through his “Skiza Wakenya” campaign slogan.
