Revealed: The Amount of Money Keter’s Sister Sent to Her Brother Before the Chopper Crash in Nandi

The tragic helicopter crash in Nandi County that claimed six lives continues to reveal heartbreaking stories from the families of the victims.

Among those who died in the accident was Johanna Ngeno, the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, whose death shocked the nation.

The crash also claimed the lives of several other passengers, including Carlos Keter, a young man whose future had just begun to brighten.

Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Carlos Keter’s sister, Chepkorir Happiness, shared the final conversation she had with her brother shortly before the helicopter crashed in the Mosop area of Nandi County.

According to her, Carlos had called her late at night and asked for a small amount of money to help him withdraw cash.

Chepkorir revealed that her brother requested KSh 1,000, which she quickly sent to him through mobile money.

She explained that she did not think much about the request at the time since it seemed like a normal favor between siblings.

However, shortly after sending the money, Carlos’ phone went off, something that immediately worried her.

She tried reaching him again but could not get through. It was only later that the devastating news reached the family that the helicopter carrying her brother had crashed. The sudden loss left the family in deep shock and grief.

Family members said Carlos had recently secured a teaching job with the Teachers Service Commission, a milestone that had brought great joy to the household.

According to relatives, he had promised his parents that he would soon begin building them a new house once he settled into his career.

The helicopter crash not only took away a promising young teacher but also ended the lives of other passengers, including Johanna Ngeno and several crew members.

The tragedy sparked widespread mourning across Kenya as citizens reacted to the sudden loss of six lives.

Following the incident, Patrick Ole Ntutu, the Governor of Narok County, visited the bereaved families to offer his condolences. He also pledged to support the families of the victims by helping cover funeral expenses.

Meanwhile, William Samoei Ruto visited Ngeno’s family at their residence in Karen, Nairobi, where he consoled the grieving relatives and paid tribute to the late MP.

The bodies of the victims are currently preserved in a hospital morgue as burial arrangements continue.

A requiem mass for the victims is expected to be held at a Baptist church, where family members, friends, and leaders will gather to honor their lives.

As Kenyans continue to mourn, the story shared by Carlos Keter’s sister highlights the painful reality that sometimes the last conversations with loved ones happen in the most ordinary moments—moments that later become unforgettable memories.
