EXPOSED: DCI Finally Reveals Identity of Policeman Caught on CCTV Robbing a Shop

A shocking case of alleged police misconduct has emerged in Bondo after a police officer was caught on CCTV allegedly robbing a local shop.

Mark Owino, a police officer, was reportedly seen in footage armed with a machete and an AK‑47 rifle as he attacked a businesswoman and her staff.

The video shows him fleeing the scene on a motorcycle accompanied by two other suspects.

The shop owner said the robbers stole between KSh 140,000 and KSh 150,000, based on daily sales estimates.

He also confirmed that the criminals took his phone, an M‑Pesa phone, and a mobile device belonging to one of his attendants.

Authorities from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations confirmed that Mark Owino has been arrested and is assisting in the ongoing investigation.

The DCI said CCTV footage was crucial in identifying the suspects and tracking their movements.

This incident has sparked public outrage, with many Kenyans questioning the integrity of some law enforcement officers.

Experts say cases like this erode public trust and underscore the need for accountability within the police service.

No formal charges had been filed at the time of reporting, but investigators assured the public that all evidence, including video recordings and witness statements, would be used to ensure justice is served.

Owino’s arrest demonstrates the DCI’s commitment to investigating crimes involving law enforcement personnel and ensuring that justice applies to everyone, regardless of position or status.
