Rigathi Gachagua Reacts As Isiolo Secondary School Teacher is Stabbed to Death, Robbed of Motorcycle

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has condemned the murder of Mr. Gatobu, Isiolo Deputy Principal and Physics and Mathematics teacher at Leparua Secondary School, who was brutally attacked, stabbed, and killed by bandits on February 18, 2026.

According to reports, Gatobu's body was found dumped by the roadside on the outskirts of town.

He was attacked while riding his motorcycle from work in Bureti area.

Witnesses say he was stabbed by suspects who stole his motorcycle, leaving him to die at the scene.

Gachagua slammed President William Ruto's administration on social media, alleging misuse of police.

He said the incident happened while police were destroying business stalls in Nairobi.

Gachagua called the actions a grave affront to human dignity, reflecting a regime that has lost compassion and justice.

He said the government's treatment of citizens struggling with the economy is a new low, led by elites disconnected from ordinary people's realities.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with calls for improved security in Isiolo and accountability from the government.
